IB Mathematics · AI SL

A clearer next step in your maths practice.

I’m building IB Math Momentum to help students work towards better grades, feel more confident in maths, experience less anxiety, and find it easier to both start and keep going with practice.

Try an early version and help shape how it supports students like you. I’m inviting approximately five AI SL students taking exams in May 2027 or May 2028.

What’s in it for you?

Make your practice more purposeful.

An easier place to start

Momentum 5 gives you a manageable five-question practice session using topics you’ve covered.

Understand what needs attention

Hints, answer feedback and worked solutions help you explore mistakes and decide what to practise next.

Reflect on how you learn

Conversations with an experienced IB maths teacher give you space to discuss your study habits and what helps you keep going.

A small session. A useful next step.

  1. Select what you’ve covered

Choose the topics you’ve been taught. You don’t need to feel confident in them.

  2. Try your Momentum 5

Work through five questions, with hints and feedback available.

  3. Choose what to revisit

Review your results and return directly to a question’s feedback or worked solution.

This is an early version. The question collection is growing, so practice is currently available for a selection of topics.

Help shape a platform that works for real students.

I’m looking for students with different levels of confidence and different study habits. You don’t need to be a keen daily practiser. Finding it difficult to start or stay motivated is useful experience to bring.

You receive

  • Free access during the six-week pilot.
  • Help getting started and selecting covered topics.
  • Short check-ins and a closing conversation.

You contribute

  • Honest feedback about what works and what gets in the way.
  • Two approximately 30-minute sessions.
  • Two 10-minute check-ins and a 20-minute closing conversation.

About 100 minutes of scheduled conversations across six weeks, plus independent use whenever it suits you. There is no daily-use requirement.

About

Built by an IB maths teacher, shaped with students.

I’m Louise, a qualified teacher with more than ten years’ experience teaching IB Mathematics.

My aim is to make effective maths practice easier to fit into everyday life, supporting stronger understanding, better grades, greater confidence and motivation, and less stress around maths.

The design draws on educational research. This pilot will help me understand what students find useful and what needs to improve.

A few practical questions

Who can take part?

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation SL students taking exams in May 2027 or May 2028. I’m selecting approximately five students with different experiences and study habits.

Do I need to be confident in maths?

No. Different confidence levels and study habits are welcome. This is a test of the platform, not a test of your maths ability.

What will the online sessions involve?

We’ll meet on Microsoft Teams. Some sessions involve trying the platform while sharing your browser window; others are conversations about your experience and study habits. You’ll receive the full details before agreeing to participate.

What if I’m under 18?

You can express interest yourself. Parent or guardian permission is required before participation, and you must also agree yourself.

Will the conversations be recorded?

Audio recording is optional and requires separate permission. No video or screen recording will be made. Declining audio recording does not prevent you from participating.

Can I stop participating?

Yes. Participation is voluntary. You can decline activities or stop at any time.
